Porcelain tile floors are very popular because they are easy to keep clean, but they can also stain if not properly cared for. Shortly after the installation of new porcelain tile floors, some of the most common problems are stains and shoe prints that are tough to remove even after regular washing.
This is usually due to concrete and grout residue. The residue forms an even surface film which does not appear as "dirt" but is sensitive to acid substances, such as most beverages.

Immediately after the floor is installed, it is important to wash the floor with a specifically designed cleaner such as DETERDEK, in order to remove all grout, mortar and glue residue from the surface. Post installation cleaning can applied by the installer or home owner. Follow the instructions on the product label.
