Situated 8 km west of Valencia, the Manises airport is the tenth Spanish airport in terms of traffic and ranks second in the region after Alicante airport. Conceived in 1927, the airport’s first flight took off in 1933, from Madrid to Valencia. Throughout the years the airport underwent several modifications, leading to the last two renovations: the first addition in 2007 and the second in 2012, when new routes and parking were built.
FILA was called upon to renew the exterior floor surface in the arrivals area. The surface in porcelain tile covered 2,600 m2 (28,000 sq. ft.) dirtied by the constant passage of people exiting the airport.
To remove the existing stains, FILA initially cleaned the floor with PS87 PRO, wax and oil remover, particularly indicated for this material, removing stains without damaging the surface.
Once the material was back to its original state, the next step was to prevent the accumulation of dirt through the use of STOP DIRT a dirt repellent that will make future cleaning considerably easier without altering the non-slip surface fundamental to the passengers’ safety.
