Overview of 11 Pilgrim Street
11 Pilgrim Street, located in London's Blackfriars area, has undergone a comprehensive refurbishment to modernise and expand its facilities. The project involved a complete overhaul of the lower ground, ground, and 7 upper floors, including a rooftop extension and core reconfiguration. The aim was to reposition the commercial building with modern amenities, improved accessibility, and additional lettable space, all while preserving the historical and architectural significance of its surroundings near St Paul's Cathedral.
FILA's Involvement
FILA played a crucial role in ensuring the long-term maintenance and durability of the project's diverse surface materials. The project utilised various high-quality materials, including bespoke 30mm white and grey terrazzo, terrazzo-effect porcelain tiles, and external porcelain, each selected for its aesthetic appeal and functionality.

- CLEANER PRO: Used for the initial cleaning of large-format cement-based terrazzo, CLEANER PRO ensures thorough cleaning without damaging the delicate surface of the tiles. This step was essential to prepare the surfaces for sealing and long-term maintenance.
- DETERDEK PRO: Used for the initial cleaning of porcelain tiles in elevators, lobbies, toilets, and showers across all 10 levels of the building, DETERDEK PRO effectively removed grout residue and stains, preparing the porcelain surfaces for subsequent treatments and maintaining their pristine condition.
- MP90 ECO XTREME: This sealer was used to treat the large-format cement-based terrazzo tiles in the reception and ground floor areas. MP90 ECO XTREME provides advanced protection against stains while preserving the surface's natural appearance, which is crucial for high-traffic areas such as lobbies.
