A joint venture between Canary Wharf Group plc and Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company, Southbank Place is a new mixed-use development in London. The large Thames-side site sits opposite the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben and is just minutes away from Waterloo mainline station. This remarkable site frames the existing Shell Tower to form a world-class destination with new public spaces and state of the art amenities. At FILA, it was our pleasure to provide surface care solutions throughout the many penthouses and lobbies which feature exquisite natural stone .
Designed by a leading architect team, Southbank Place is light, bright and optimised for taking in those riverside views. In total, the development features 531,000 sq ft of office space, 55,000 sq ft of retail space, 880 homes on 826,000 sq ft, and thoughtfully designed open spaces and gardens. The vision was to create a location where residents feel they have truly arrived and there's no doubt this site is perfectly placed to enjoy the best of London. Amenities also include a residents' lounge, health club and spa, gym, sauna and steam room.
At FILA, we worked alongside Stone and Ceramic, who fully designed and installed the natural stone surfaces throughout Southbank Place. Statuarietto Marble is a prominent feature and also the main design scheme of 146 bathrooms and showers. This exclusive stone features distinct grey and gold veining and requires specialist care with MP90 ECO XTREME. Fior Di Bosco was also chosen for the feature staircase and lobby, a porcelain tile designed to replicate the characterful look and feel of natural marble.
At FILA, our job was to protect all surfaces from wear and tear, particularly where you'd expect constant footfall in the lifts, hallways and lobbies. We also treated plenty of Bardigilo and Carrera marble across Southbank Place and restored all of the surfaces with CLEANER PRO. Another show-stopping aspect of this incredible site is the 3D Moleanos stone feature wall that has a calculated load of 5 tonnes! We're sure you'll agree; this site has been curated to perfection and is a must-visit! Why not have a browse through our project gallery photos?
