Castello Murisengo

Italy

Murisengo Castle (Alessandria) is a medieval fortification dating back to 1164 that was home to Frederick Barbarossa, Silvio Pellico and Victor Emmanuel III. The current owner, having consulted the Superintendent’s office for architectonic and landscape heritage, has radically renovated most of the castle, recuperating the ruined uninhabited part and restoring the original splendour of the coffered ceilings, stone and tuff stone walls, frescoes and floors in terracotta and wood. The treatment specialists Edy and Vittorio Bregantin used a vast range of Fila products to tackle jobs on surfaces that were problematic and difficult due to their state of deterioration caused by a long period of neglect. The work lasted nearly a year, with a total of almost 1,800 m² of surface area treated and qualified the Bergantin brothers as winners of the fifth edition of the “Trattati da Re” (Given the Royal Treatment) competition in the category “renovation of historical property”.
