On May 10th, the 2024 Stone Federation Golf Day swung into action, bringing together 62 players across the stone industry. The event was a resounding success, welcoming participants from various sectors, including architects, stone suppliers, masonry firms, contractors, and manufacturers. This annual gathering showcased the sport and highlighted the importance of building and maintaining strong professional relationships.

The competition was fierce, with players demonstrating exceptional skill and sportsmanship. In a closely contested battle, the team from Tudor Stonework, captained by Associate Pomi Aliberti, emerged victorious, claiming the prestigious Stone Federation Golf Day Trophy, sponsored by Paye Stonework & Restoration Ltd. Hot on their heels was the team from Stoneworld, led by owner Robert Parker, who secured a commendable second place.

Individual accolades that recognised outstanding performances on specific holes highlighted the day. The Longest Drive prizes, sponsored by FILA Solutions, were awarded to Matthew Leary of Cullifords for his remarkable drive on the 7th hole and Joe Snell of Willcox Snell Masonry Ltd for his powerful performance on the 18th hole. These coveted prizes were presented by Martin Ballard, FILA’s Technical Manager for the UK and Ireland, acknowledging the impressive achievements of the winners.

Steve Mudie of Alinea Consulting clinched the Nearest the Pin prize, sponsored by Tudor Stonework, showcasing his precision and control on the green. These individual achievements underscored the high level of talent present at the event and contributed to the overall excitement and camaraderie of the day.
