London Design Festival 2021 | What to Expect From This Year's Show
16/09/2021
From 18 September 2021 to 26 September 2021
Returning for its 19th edition and starting this week, London Design Festival is back with a bang. Featuring a programme of many exciting events, online and offline, the show is a celebration of design and London’s top designers and artists.
What is London Design Festival?
London Design Festival is an annual event dedicated to showcasing the work of designers, architects and artists. Throughout the week-long show, you can find more than 400 large-scale installations, exhibitions and events across many of the capital’s impressive and world-famous landmarks. Highlights from last year include The Circular Design Project which highlighted the fact that a sustainable future starts with design. We also saw The Hothouse structure by Studio Weave, a development reminiscent of a Victorian glasshouse that demonstrated the effects of climate change.

Design London Trade Show
Making its debut during this year’s LDF show, Design London runs from the 22nd to the 25th of September 2021. The show will take place in the new Design District on Greenwich Peninsula and feature groundbreaking design and a selection of contract interiors brands. The first official Design London is also set to feature many international names, such as fellow Italian brands Penta, Ethimo Design and Artemide. Buster + Punch will also make an appearance, a London-based industrial label, plus many other emerging interior brands.
V&A Exhibitions and Installations
The V&A museum hosts work by designers that focus on the way design affects climate change. Exhibitions explore a low-carbon future and climate justice, subjects that FILA hold very dear to our hearts. If you plan to visit the show, then we’d recommend visiting the installation by acclaimed Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto. Medusa: Architecture + Reality is a collaboration between Fujimoto and mixed reality studio Tin Drum and intends to prompt thought on climate change.
